Lubbock Independent School District provides the following benefits
and options to all full time employees:

Health
Insurance Coverage
The
school district offers major medical health insurance
for all employees which becomes effective the 31st day
of employment. This covers employees only; however, employees
may authorize salary deduction to cover the cost of purchasing
additional medical benefits and adding dependent coverage.

Hospital
Income Plan Coverage (HIP)
This
option is offered to employees who have other major medical health
insurance and do not want or need the LISD Plan. This coverage provides
$250.00 per day if a participant requires inpatient hospital care.

Dental
Expense Reimbursement Plan
The
school district has established this program to provide some financial
assistance with dental expenses for employees and their families. (Related

Term
Life and AD & D Coverage
LISD
provides $5,000 Term Life and AD & D coverage for employees covered
under the major medical health insurance plan. For employees under
the (HIP), LISD provides $25,000 Term Life and AD & D coverage.
Additional coverage is available through payroll deduction.

Texas
Retirement System of Texas
All
employees must become members of the Teacher Retirement System. Employee
monthly contributions along with state contributions are deposited
with Texas Retirement System to established retirement benefits for
school employees. Member contributions will be tax sheltered through
an employers pickup which will reduce the member's salary for federal
income tax purposes only.

State
Personal Leave (Other Than Illness, Death, or Jury Duty)
Five
state personal leave days are available to all employees.
|
|
Personal
Illness, Family Illness, and Death in Family Leave
All
employees shall be entitled to leave for personal illness in an amount
equal to one day for each full month of employment. Leave because
of death in the immediate family may not exceed five days.

Out-Of-District
Experience
All
previous teaching experience of employees new to Lubbock Independent
School District is transferrable for contract purposes.
|
|
Employee
Assistance Program (Employee Option)
The
Employee Assistance Program will consist of a structured confidential
helping program for individuals needing help with problems of a personal
nature. This program will be provided free of charge to all employees
and their families for assessment counseling. The use of this service
is strictly confidential.

|
Wellness
Program (Employee Option)
Employees
will have the option of participating in this program through the
Methodist Hospital Centre. This is primarily a fitness program sponsored
by the LISD Wise and Well Employee Health Promotion Program. Payroll
deduction is available for the monthly membership fees. Also sponsored
by Wise and Well are scheduled lipid profile and glucose tests administered
throughout the year at selected school campuses. These tests are completed
at very reasonable rates for LISD employees.

Sick
Leave Bank (Employee Option)
A
Sick Leave Bank will provide additional sick leave days to members
of the bank in the event of an unexpected illness, surgery or a temporary
disability due to injury. Days may be requested from the bank only
after the member has exhausted all accumulated state and local sick
leave days. Each member employee contributes three days to the bank.

Workers'
Compensation Insurance
All
employees are covered under workers' compensation insurance. This
coverage is available for on-the-job injuries, which require medical
attention.

Leaves
of Absence
Leaves
of absence may be granted by the Lubbock Independent School District
Board for professional leave, military leave, temporary disability,
maternity, adoptive parent and parenting.

Lubbock
Teachers Federal Credit Union
Employees
are eligible for membership in the Lubbock Teachers Federal Credit
Union. Payroll deductions are available when using the credit union.

|
Flexible
Benefit Plan (Section 125) (Employee Option)
Employees
may elect to have optional and dependent coverage premiums for their
medical insurance, cancer insurance, and for their dental reimbursement
plan paid with before-tax dollars. Employees also have the option
of establishing medical reimbursement and dependent care reimbursement
accounts that permits them to pay eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars.
