Qualifications

 

To qualify for the Lubbock I.S.D. Head Start/Pre-K program, a child must be 3 or 4 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year and live within the LISD boundaries.  A child must also meet at least one of the following criteria to be eligible:

1.     The family income must meet the income guidelines for free or reduced price lunches.

2.     The child must be unable to speak and/or comprehend the English Language.

3.     The child may qualify because of educational needs related to an identified handicapping condition related to vision, hearing, speech, emotions, mental ability, physical ability, or other health impairment (4 year olds only).

4.     The child may qualify if it is determined he/she is homeless or if he/she is a foster child.

5.     Parent is active duty military or has been injured or killed while on active duty

 

Enrollment Information

If you are interested in filling out an application for the current school year, you will need the following information:

·         Certified County Birth Certificate - Health Dept.  (No Hospital Copies)

·         Child's Social Security Card

·         Proof of all household income (W-2, pay stubs, TANF letter, child support, S.S.I)

·         Address verification (current utility bill, rental/lease agreement) No Disconnects or phone bills

·         Current Shot Records (with 4 yr. old booster if applicable)

·         Any government assistance program cards (Medicaid, Food Stamps/Social Security)

·         Dental and Physical Examination (4 year olds only)
