Second Step (Pre-K - 6 th ) - Teaches social skills in identifying feelings, impulse control, and anger management through ongoing lessons, 15 minutes - 45 minutes.
YELLO - Dyno (K - 6 th ) - Teaches the 4 fundamentals of child safety Education: 1) Confidence Building 2) Recognizing tricky people 3) Recognizing early warning signs 4) Recognizing and trusting their own instincts.
Natural Helpers (6 th - 12 th ) - Provides training to students and adults who are already perceived as "natural" helpers and gives them skills to provide help more effectively to young people who seek them out.
Boys/Girls (5 th - 12 th ) - Working with boys and girls together and separately teaching the latest brain research in how boys and girls learn differently. Can include with open discussions on specific gender-related issues.
Giraffe Heroes - Introduces students to real heroes, people who stick their necks out for the common good. Absorbing these stories gives students an understanding of courage, compassion, persistence and personal responsibility. They see what it is to lead a meaningful life, a life of courageous compassion and active citizenship.
Peer Mediation/Conflict Resolution - Students learn to resolve conflict by processing problems with trained student facilitators who help resolve the issues.
Team Building - This curriculum is based on the low-level ropes course activities. Respect, cooperation, teamwork, and problem solving are the key areas addressed with students to support and encourage each other throughout the school year.

Here's Looking At You (Pre-K - 3 rd ) - Teaches children the differences between medicines and drugs. Children learn the safety rules in taking medicines and how to be safe when around someone who is using drugs.
Protecting You Protecting Me (1 st - 5 th ) - Classroom based, alcohol-use prevention curriculum. Proven to change children's knowledge about their brains and personal development, increase their intention not to ride with an impaired driver and improve their ability to protect themselves when they have no option but to ride with an impaired driver.
Refusal Skills (6 th ) - Teaches students in 5, 1 classroom lessons how to avoid trouble and stay in control while maintaining high self-esteem, friendship and fun.
Project ALERT (6 th - 8 th ) - A 14-week skill-based drug prevention program for middle grades addressing alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and inhalants to reduce use and prevent nonusers becoming users.
Life Strategies (9 th - 12 th ) - Jay McGraw's book teaches the Ten Laws of Life for teens. This interactive class allows students to explore their roles in life and challenges students to think about how they can live life best.
Media Literacy (High School) - These presentations are aimed at caring professionals who work with children and adolescents. Participants will learn how to help students become more critical consumers of media, allowing them to make more informed choices about their health. It will include discussions.
DAVE/E.S.R. II - a comprehensive research-based curriculum provided by the state that provides lessons infusing drug and violence prevention in the major content. This program is now on the Internet allowing it to stay current and expandable. Address: http://dave.esc4.net. provided in adaptable classroom lessons.
Red Ribbon Week - Dedicated to awareness of substance use the third week of October throughout the district.
Programs can be provided by Guidance staff or campus personnel can be trained in implementation. Trainings vary from 1 hour to 2 days.
