School
History
Honey Elementary School was established in 1983. Honey is named for two veteran Lubbock
teachers, Mr. Floyd Honey and
his sister, Miss Glenys Honey. Floyd
Honey was an elementary teacher, coach, and principal
at Lubbock high School and Monterey High School. Glenys
Honey taught in Lubbock for 41 years at the elementary, junior high, and high school
levels. Both
Floyd and Glenys played a vital role in the education of many
young people in Lubbock. They both admirably demonstrated the qualities of
outstanding educators.
