From
the Desk of Phillip
Neeb
Principal
of Honey Elementary

I
am very excited to have the opportunity to work with the staff of Honey
Elementary School
again this year. Our theme for the
upcoming year will be “A Bit of Honey Goes a Long Way”.
I feel that our theme is very appropriate considering the strong
academic tradition that Honey has developed over the years.
Our staff, students and parents all worked extremely hard last
year and as a result, we received the highest academic recognition from
the state of
Texas
(Exemplary Based on TAKS performance).
I fully expect that we will continue to enjoy the highest levels
of success as we strive to help each “Honey Bear” reach their
individual potential.
I
have worked in the Lubbock ISD for 15 of the last 17 years.
I spent 8 years in the classroom teaching 3rd and 6th
grade at Posey Elementary,
Waco
and Preston Smith Elementary. This
will be my 10th year in administration.
Previously, I was an Assistant Principal for 3 years at Posey,
Parkway,
Bozeman
and Preston Smith Elementary. I
was the Principal at Hardwick Elementary for 5 years, before coming to
Honey Elementary.
I
earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas
Tech
University. It goes without
saying that I am a huge fan of the Red Raiders!
On a personal note, my wife Christy, and I grew up in the same small
town (Fort Stockton
, Texas). We have been
married for 14 years now and we have 2 children.
Our son Thomas will be in the 2nd grade this year and our
daughter Meredith will begin kindergarten here in LISD.
They are great sources of pride for both of us.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, working in the
yard, reading, watching baseball games (mainly my son’s) and playing
golf. Each July, I
thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to be a “stay at home” father with
my kids and we are on the go all of the time.
Honey Elementary has a tremendous staff who works hard to make your
child’s experience in elementary school a “special” time.
When we pair that with outstanding students and parents, we have
a limitless potential for great things to happen.
We are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with
such supportive, fantastic families!
