The Information Fluency initiative, based on
The Big6™, is a joint effort of Lubbock ISD's Library Media Services and Instructional Technology Departments. It is an effort to provide teachers, librarians, and technologists resources to more effectively teach students to use information and technology.

  • Teacher Resources (.zip file - click on the link to the left and click the Save button, save it to your desktop, open the zipped folder you just saved to the desktop and drag the Teacher Resources folder out to your desktop. You may now delete the TeacherResources.zip folder.)

The scenario is used to pose the question or problem to be solved.

  • Curriculum based-correlated to the TEKS

  • Requires information to make a decision, solve a problem or complete a task
  • Available sources of data
  • Relevant for students

  • Addresses various intelligences / learning styles
  • Allows for evaluation by performance or presentation rather than research paper
