The
following guidelines are required to have a school website posted:
- Any site about a
Lubbock ISD school must be housed on LISD's web server.
- Someone from the
school must be designated as the responsible party for the page. It
shall be that individual's responsibility to make sure that the page
is kept current. The home page of the school's web site should contain
an email link either to this individual or a generic school email
account that is monitored by this individual. Their name and phone
number must accompany the page(s) when sent to the Technology Department.
- Information regarding
students, including the use of their likeness, must comply with board
policies CQ
(Local) and CQ
(Legal), as well as any other relevant board policies.
- The use of student
generated work on a site must comply with board policies CQ
(Local) and CQ
(Legal), as well as any other relevant board policies.
- There should be no
link to any questionable site; contact the Technology Department if
you are in question about a site.
- All material contained
in a site should conform to LISD's Student Code of Conduct, Employee
Policies, Electronic Communications Policy, and Internet Use Guidelines.
- The front page of
all school pages should contain a link to LISD's district page; located
at www.LubbockISD.org.
It should also display the district's logo; a copy of which can be
downloaded from www.lubbockisd.org/images/logos.
- Sites posted to the
district's web server should be attractive and consistent in their
design.
- The front or home
page of your site must use the filename index.htm, index.html, or
default.htm.
- The names of all
files and directories should contain no spaces.
- All graphics on the
site must be contained in a folder/subdirectory called images.
- All school sites
posted to LISD's web server must be updated at least once each school
year to reflect changes on that campus. However, any good site should
be updated much more frequently in order to provide the most current
information to our students, parents, and staff. Sites found to be
out of date will be deactivated.
- To submit a site
for posting, please mail the disk(s) containing your site to Bryce
Johnston at LISD's Technology Department.
- To submit updates
of your pages, mail a disk containing the entire site to Bryce Johnston,
Technology Department.
- Any questions regarding
these guidelines or issues in getting school pages posted should be
directed to Bryce Johnston (766-1203).
