Welcome to Roscoe
Wilson Magnet Elementary School where we are eagerly working towards
Lassoing A Great Year in 2007-2008!
As the Lubbock
Independent School District celebrates 100 years of Education, we as
Wranglers take pride in our school where almost 67 years ago children
and their parents in what used to be southwest Lubbock ,watched with
eager anticipation as the beautiful building was completed and opened in
January of 1940. Named Roscoe Wilson Elementary school, the building
had 8 classrooms for 270 students.
Today well over
400 strong, we cherish the rich, history, tradition and diversity of our
school and what those things bring to our students, their families and
our community. We study and honor Mr. Roscoe Wilson by remembering and
reading about this outstanding man who is remembered for his ”sense of
honor”, “absolute unshakable integrity,” “unbounded love for his fellow
man,” and ”encouragement and unselfishness toward others”. We will
speak of him often as “Wranglers” and practice the fine qualities that
Mr. Wilson is remembered for in striving to become better students and
citizens and exceptional Wranglers.
This year we will
implement Our Positive Behavior Support System, in which we will seek to
catch all Wranglers wearing their “CHAPS”. Symbolizing CHARACTER,
HONOR, ACHIEVEMENT, PRIDE, SAFETY , SECURITY, and SUCCESS. We invite
all parents to join us each day in “getting your “CHAPS” on!
We look forward as
a Roscoe Wilson Family in learning and working together to Lasso a Great
Year in 2007-2008!
Go Wranglers!
