Hall of Fame 

The Roscoe Wilson Hall of Fame was created in 1995 in an effort to recognize the achievements of former Roscoe Wilson students and identify role models for current students. Any adult who attended Roscoe Wilson for at least one year may be nominated for consideration. 

Upon induction, each honoree or their representative addresses the student body sharing some of their school experiences and voicing support for education. The following alumni have been honored:

1995

Charles Hardin Holley "Buddy Holly" - Mr. Holly distinguished himself as a rock-and-roll singer/performer, songwriter, and musician.

1995

Carolyn Sumners Bledsoe Goebel - Mrs. Goebel served as the Social Studies Coordinator for the Lubbock Independent School District. She also served as president of the Texas Council for Social Studies.

1996

Sam Cummings - Judge Cummings presides over the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

1996

C. Doyle Gammill - Mr. Gammill serves as Coordinator of Instrumental Music for the Lubbock Independent School District.

1997

Max Faulkner - Mr. Faulkner serves as the Director of Photography for the Fort Worth Star Telegram and has served as the on-site coordinator for Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII

1997

Susan Ford Wiltshire - Dr. Wiltshire serves as the Alexander Heard Distinguished Service Professor of Classical Studies at Vanderbuilt University.

1998

Mary Camille "Kamie" Ethridge - Ms. Ethridge serves as an Associate Head Coach at Kansas State University and was a 1988 Gold Medalist for the United States Olympic Basketball Team.

1999

David C. Weaver, Jr. - Mr. Weaver serves as executive director of the South Plains Food Bank.

2000

Glenna Maxey Goodacre - Mrs. Goodacre is an accomplished sculptor. Two of her most recognized works are the Sacajawea dollar coin and the Vietnam Women's Memorial.

2001

Daniel Benson - Mr. Benson is a Paul Whitfield Horn Professor of Law at Texas Tech School of Law.

2002

Judge J.Q. Warnick - Judge J.Q. Warnick attended in the first year the school was open in 1940. He has been involved in many civic and legal organizations to benefit the community.

2002

Dr. Davis Ford - Dr. Ford is also a writer and has published several books on cowboys and western themes.

2003

Rosie Sandifer - Rosie Sandifer has several sculpture pieces at Texas Tech, most notably the statue of Jerry Rawls at the School of Business on the Tech campus.

2004

Dr. John Key - Dr. Key is a graduate of Texas A&M and is a retired Colonel in the Army Reserves. He has been a practicing veterinarian in Lubbock for over 35 years.

2005

Mark Griffin-Mark Griffin is a successful businessman with the Griffin Oil Company. He has served many years on the LISD board and served as president. He is currently serving on the Texas Tech Board of Regents.

2006 Ron Reeves-Ron Reeves is a home builder in Lubbock and was a very successful athlete at Texas Tech and later in professional football.

2007

Captain James R. Brown- Captain Brown is the Base Commander of Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida.
