ALL GRADE LEVELS

The City of Lubbock Water Utilities Conservation and Education Department offers conservation education programs for area students grades K-12. Our program provides an opportunity for young people to participate in engaging, hands-on activities that creatively explore the science of water and the complex issues surrounding its management and stewardship. Our program also focuses on other conservation issues including recycling, use of natural resources, and solid waste issues.
The Conservation Education Program offers over twenty different lesson plans available for teachers to use for students of all ages.
Whether our children grow up and live in or around Lubbock or in some other distant place, water use and conservation will be one of the greatest challenges they will face.

Need money for a special project?
The Lubbock Area Foundation might be able to help! The MINI-GRANTS FOR TEACHERS program provides an opportunity to provide enriching academic experiences for students as well as recognize and reward outstanding teachers in the South Plains region. It supports innovative approaches and creative ideas by funding academic projects not supported by school budgets. The deadline for application is always around June 15^th of each year. Grants awards are announced in July each year and payable to your school in August.
