Lubbock ISD has been awarded a continuation of the the TARGET Grant(Technology Applications Readiness Grants for Empowering Texas)  for the third year in a row which ultimately resulted in over $1.5 million dollars for our children and teachers.  This year the grant will provide state of the art equipment and on site professional development for our teachers as they continually strive to improve student achievement.
         The five goals of the program are to align teaching and technology, erase the digital divide, improve all academic achievement through the use of technology, maximize the results of the instructional process and use electronic portfolios to document and reflect on the longitudinal growth of each of our students.
          Principals from selected campuses met with Technology staff in August to discuss and plan the grant year.
