Texas Bluebonnet Award Logo

All  3rd through 6th grade homerooms are encouraged to participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Contest. Each homeroom teacher can check-out library books to read to his/her class. Once the book has been read, students should receive a sticker to keep on his/her voting sheet "Who will it be?" Students that hear 5 or more books will get to vote. Students that hear/read 7 or more books get to vote and win a bookmark. Students reading/hearing 10 or more books will get to vote, win a bookmark and a pencil. Wolffarth Elementary Library hosted a Poetry contest during the month of April which is National Poetry Month. Students in Kindergarten through sixth grade had three weeks to memorize a poem from their grade-level contest page. During the last week of April students could come and recite the poem to Mrs. Sanders or Miss Haarmeyer. Students that participated were rewarded with a book mark, a piece of candy and the chance to win movie money.
