Five teams from the Lubbock Independent School District will advance to the Destination Imagination global tournament after their stellar performances in the state meet in Round Rock this
weekend. In addition, "The Pinballs" from Lubbock High School won a DaVinci Award for outstanding creativity and Amanda Pattillo from O L Slaton Middle School won an Individual Renaissance Award for her performance. The team bus is scheduled to arrive in Lubbock between 4:15 and 4:30 pm today, Sunday, at the parking lot at 18th and Avenue Q, just north of the Lubbock ISD Central Offices.
First through third place teams in Challenges A, D and E will advance to the global competition in May at the University of Tennessee. Only the first and second place teams in the other challenges will advance.

| The Hillbilly Switchers from Murfee Elementary won second place and will advance to the global meet in the elementary division. A Middle School team from Cavazos Middle School also made it to the state competition, but will not advance to the global finals. | |
