Alderson—Success, one step at a time.

Author Terry Trueman

     With a grant made possible by Dr. Pat Watson at Texas Tech University, I was given many copies of Terry Trueman’s first three books Stuck In Neutral, Cruise Control, and Inside Out for use in the classroom.

     Students participated in literature circle discussions within the classroom, as well as, discussions via the internet with Texas Tech students majoring in education.  Students were completely engrossed with Trueman’s writing and the books were a huge hit at Alderson.

     Students in my Pre AP English class received the special honor of attending the Texas Tech Literature Festival to meet Terry Trueman in person.  Students were able to meet as a small group and ask questions about Trueman’s life and writing.

     Meeting Trueman in person was a magical experience for students who would otherwise never have the opportunity to meet such a brilliant author.
