Shakespeare In The Park

     Students in Las Cruces, New Mexico at Sierra Middle School were able to present their own version of Shakespeare’s in the Park version Midsummer Night’s Dream with the assistance of a grant from the New Mexico Writing Project.

     Students not only painted the three set backdrops, but worked with parents and the home economics class to sew costumes. 

     A dress rehearsal was presented to parents the night before their performance in the park.  After the eighth grade’s performance of Romeo and Juliet, my seventh grade students performed their comedy.

     Performances were followed by pizza and soda in the park.
