Mission

The Mission of the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center is to prepare students for optimal success in high-demand, high-tech, advanced professions by providing state-of-the-art educational opportunities coupled with apprenticeship/internship opportunities, industry-standard certifications and licensing, and college credit for an extensive set of courses.

History

In 1997 Market Lubbock, Inc., Lubbock ISD, and South Plains College formed a collaborative and innovative project that has changed the face of Lubbock ISD technology education.

Byron Martin, Dr. Dick Walsh (SPC) and Wayne Havens (LISD) have continued to pursue the goal of providing students with learning experiences that show them how to apply classroom learning to authentic projects. All high school students from Lubbock ISD are able to take classes in this challenging environment with skilled teachers who represent the highest level of expertise.

LISD is committed to providing the best technology tools in all classrooms at the ATC.
