Certified Career Counselors at the Career Center provide career related course planning, resume writing assistance, individual and group career assessment, labor market information, interview tips, online career research assistance, and general career planning services.
LISD students, and parents of students, may schedule an appointment and come to the center for any of the services offered. The Career Center will remain open after regular school hours as appointments indicate.
Counselors at the Career Center offer career guidance services to students at all of LISD's junior high schools, beginning at the end of the sixth grade year. Sixth and seventh grade classes are invited to come to the Advanced Technology Center for:
  *  career guidance presentations   *  career exploration
  *  interests inventories   *  assistance in course planning
  *  beginning resume writing   *  tours of the facility

In addition, all of LISD's ninth grade students are brought to the ATC where they take the interest/aptitude assessment, CareerScope, on laptop computers. Results of the assessment are immediately available and certified career counselors interpret the results during the session. Interpretation of the results is followed by assistance with related course planning using the LISD Course Offering Book and a four-year gradutaion plan. After the session, students tour the facility to discover all innovative courses at the ATC.
