Automotive Technology

Rapid advances in technology have created new career opportunities and demands in the automotive services industry.  This class gives students the opportunity to receive job-specific training by learning successful work habits, proper safety procedures in the application of tools, equipment, computers, estimates, and materials used in automotive services; apply core academic skills by communicating effectively orally and in writing to customers, formulating estimations, reading and interpreting appropriate schematics, charts, diagrams,  service-repair manuals; as well as implement the skills of the trade in the student leadership organization.

Skills USA, through district, state, national, and international competitions.  If the Tech Prep option is chosen, credits will be transferred to South Plains College.
