Building Trades I & II
The students have an opportunity to receive job-specific training in the construction industry, which includes the following areas of study: framing, drywall, roofing, and cabinetry. Students will be introduced to CNC machining and programming. In addition, the student will develop successful work habits; apply core academic skills by communicating effectively orally and in writing to customers, formulating estimates; reading and interpreting appropriate schematics, blueprints, drawings, charts, and diagrams; as well as implement the skills of the trade in the student leadership organization.
The advanced course is designed to further enhance job-specific training for entry-level employment in construction-related careers. CNC programming in developing specific projects will be emphasized.
All students will be members of the Skills USA student organization in implementing their skills of the trade through district, state, national and international competitions
