Ready, Set, Teach

This is a work based learning class which provides students background knowledge of child development principles as well as principles of effective teaching practices. 

Students in this class, which can be taken for one or two years, work under the joint direction and supervision of both their high school teacher and exemplary elementary teachers in direct instructional roles with elementary students.  Students plan and direct individualized instruction and group activities, prepare instructional materials, assist with record keeping, and complete other responsibilities of classroom teachers. 

They work a minimum of 15 hours weekly and are paid by LISD.
