LISD Online Home In order to take an online course with LISD, students must have the following software for all online courses:
  • Microsoft Office 2000 or above is the standard software and are required to view and transfer files to and from the instructor. 
  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are the common parts of Office that all courses use.
  • Microsoft Works and Word Perfect are not acceptable software packages to use since all instructors are using Microsoft Office 2000 or above.
  • Some courses require other parts of the Office 2000 software package.  So please make sure you check the software requirements on all courses.

Software Specific Courses & Needed Equipment:

  • BCIS1A -- This course requires Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel 2000 or above.  Online textbook will show Office XP Professional version.
  • BCIS1B -- This course requires Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint 2000 or above.  Online textbook will show Office XP Professional version.
  • Accounting IA & 1B -- These courses require Microsoft Word and Excel 2000 or above.
  • Keyboarding -- The software needed (Micro Type Pro) is checked out to students in order to install onto their computer to use for working on the actual keyboarding skill.  Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2000 are required software.
  • Communication Applications -- This course requires for students to tape/record a speech that they give in front of a small audience.  This video needs to be in the format of a CD/DVD or a VHS video tape in order for the instructor to view the speech.  Students may also give their speeches in person to the instructor if they do not have access to a Video Recorder.  The instructor will provide days and time for students to make appointments to give their speeches in person.
