Bean Elementary students in 5th grade are presented with the opportunity to participate in the Bean Elementary Leadership Corps headed by art teacher Kay Wagnon-Holder, 5th grade teacher Pam Brown, reading specialist Rachel Ramirez,  counselor Sylvia Ortiz, and behavior interventionist Marla Riddlespurger. Students who meet the Leadership Corps requirements may apply any time throughout the school year.  The teachers who head the committee also act as a review board, evaluating the newly submitted applications and the status of every Leadership Corps membership once each 6 weeks.  Leadership Corps members are given various opportunities throughout the school year to serve the school and the community.

Members of the Bean Elementary Leadership Corps are expected to maintain an overall academic average of at least 80%, attend school at least 90% of the time, positively model all Pillars of Character, and maintain a highly satisfactory grade (H) in citizenship.
