Bean Elementary is fortunate to
have such a talented, energetic music teacher as
Donnetta
Lippe. Donnetta has been teaching at
Bean for 6 years. The music program at Bean
follows a standards-based curriculum that exposes
the children to rhythm, and allows children to
learn through movement. Music instruction
also helps to foster respect, touches on
multicultural awareness, and encourages creative
expression, and performance. |

| Art is taught at
Bean Elementary by the talented Kay Wagnon-Holder.
Kay graduated from Texas Tech with
a B. F. A. in Studio Art opting for a major in
painting and a minor in drawing. Kay,
"...challenges talented and courageous young
artists to inspire, to join, and even to lead a
concerned public in a journey that gives vision
and encouragement to administrators and school
boards, both in the public and private domain..." |

"If a student knows the
rules of writing, that student can communicate
with anyone who shares a common language. If
a student learns the fundamentals of art, that
student can communicate with the world."

One of Mrs. Krebbs' earliest
memories is of going to the public library with her
family. She fell in love with books as a
child and her goal as Bean's librarian is to help
every child find books that make him want to read
more. Mrs. Krebbs says she has the best job at Bean
because she gets to work in a beautiful library with
over 17,000 great books; she gets to order books to
help the teachers; and she gets to read to the
students at Bean. Another great part of her job is
promoting reading with contests and celebrations
such as the Texas Bluebonnet Books, Children's Book
Week, Accelerated Reader and Read Across America.
Mrs. Krebbs is also the librarian at Stewart
Elementary. The Bean Library is staffed every day by
the library clerk, Mrs. Sherrie Clemmons
