R. Bean Elementary School |

Bean Elementary School, located at 3001 Avenue N,
in the center of Lubbock, Texas, is one of the
oldest elementary schools in Lubbock. Constructed
in 1939, Bean was named after George R. Bean, an
early Lubbock pioneer. The attendance area today
is from 19th Street south to 42nd Street and from
Avenue Q east to Interstate 27. Bean currently is
a school wide Title I school with an enrollment of
about 425 students in kindergarten through fifth grade
and a faculty of 67 teachers and support staff.
The talented staff at Bean is led by our capable
Principal, Debra Alderson, and our
Instructional Specialist, Staci Sumners. |

the faculty at Bean to meet the needs and
interests of the diverse student population.
Special Programs currently available to Bean
students are Accelerated Reader,
Computer
Literacy,
ESL, Bilingual classroom instruction, Art, Music, and P.E. programs. |
