Throughout the day, the Grim Reaper will be removing students from their classes to show how many die each day from a drunk driving accident in the US.
On April 27, we will be having a school-wide assembly at 9:00 a.m. in the gym.  At that time, we will watch a video of the previous day's activities and ask parents and students who were in the simulation to share their views and feelings.  We will have another video of two young people whose lives were changed forever because one of the chose to drive while intoxicated.  A mother who lost a child to a drunk drive will also speak.

The candidates were selected from nearly 2.8 million students expected to graduate from high schools across the nation in 2006. The candidates were selected for their exceptional performance on the SAT or ACT assessments. The competition continues with the completion of student essays, self-assessments, description of activities, school recommendations, and school transcripts. A distinguished panel of educators will review these submissions and select 500 semi-finalists in early April. These scholars will be invited to Washington D.C. for several days in June to receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion at a recognition ceremony, and to participate in events and activities with their elected representatives, educators, and other leader individuals in public life.
