I. To promote greater awareness of student responsibilities and to support the
promotion of character building among our students.

A. Support mail-out of rival week letters by school Principals.

B. Sponsor a school wide assembly to address current teen issues.

C. Sponsor a parent awareness event or provide an information flyer on
parenting for CHS parents and students.
II. To create greater parental involvement through effective communications and to
increase membership in CHS PTA.

A. Provide Mustang memos at every PTA meeting.
-
B. Run an effective PTA membership drive in the fall.
-
C. Call each name on the PTA volunteer list at least once per year.

D. Establish an e-mail list of parents and communicate with them about CHS
events.
III. To increase positive public awareness of CHS through various media.

A. Showcase PTA activities and school gifts through student and local
newspapers.

B. Send news releases of school activities to local paper and news stations.
-
C. Facilitate dissemination of scholarship numbers and academic statistics to
parents and junior high schools as well as news media. (By working with
school administration).
IV. To emphasize to students how PTA can benefit them and how they can become more involved in PTA by participation in a project.

A. Provide one philanthropic project a year in which PTA student members can
participate.

B. Create better
liaison between student PTA members and PTA Board by
having a student representative report to the
board.
V. To prepare the CHS PTA for entering Freshmen and their parents.

A. Review CHS PTA Bylaws for needed changes.

B. Provide a reception for parents of students entering in the school year 2006-
2007.

C. Explore the possibility of establishing a PTSA (Parent/Teacher/Student
Association.
