March 19 – March 28

Monday – Wednesday, 8 days

AP exam payment and registration through the counseling office. Visits will be made to AP English III and IV on Thursday and Friday, March 22 and 23.

April 4 & 5, Wednesday and Thursday

Cap, Gown, Invitation delivery. Herff-Jones will be outside the auditorium for you to pick up your order.

During the month of April—VERY IMPORTANT!!

April 12 deadline for Recognition Program.

May 16 deadline for Graduation Program.

Turn in scholarship offers to the counseling office. Certificates will be presented to students who are offered scholarships at the Recognition Program. Scholarships that are accepted will be printed with the student’s name in the Graduation Program. The total dollar amount of scholarships offered and accepted will be announced at graduation.

April 4, Wednesday, at lunch in Room 208

Organization meeting regarding auditions for graduation speaker. Bring a drink, and pizza will be provided.

April 11, Wednesday

Turn in verification of intent to audition for graduation speaker to Mr. Reeves in Room 208, due by 4 p.m.

April 12th, Thursday, 10:30 a.m.

An important senior meeting in the auditorium to discuss end of year activities and responsibilities.

April 12, Thursday

Last day that scholarship offers will be accepted for the Junior/Senior Recognition Program. Be sure to turn in your information.

Mid-April

Correspondence courses (assignments & exam) and credit-by-exams must be complete to ensure that we get a grade in time for graduation. See Mrs. Dickson for information on taking exams. Exams will not be given at Coronado.

April 16th, Monday

SENIOR DINNER—Details will be given later.

April 17, 18, 19, 20--Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

9th,10th and 11 TAKS testing and 12th TAKS Exit Level. Seniors are to report to the gym at a time to be announced.

April 23, Monday

Last day of LISD on-line courses (Final exam day)

April 25, Wednesday, 4:15 p.m., Room 101

Graduation speaker auditions in room 101

April 30, Monday

Ninth/Tenth Recognition Program  at 6:45 p.m., in the auditorium

May 1, Tuesday

Last day of evening classes at Matthews

May 1, Tuesday

Junior/Senior Recognition Program at 6:45 p.m., in the auditorium.

May 5, Saturday, 8 – 11 p.m. (pictures will begin at 5 p.m.)

Junior/Senior Prom at the Civic Center, Tickets are $12 each.

May 7 – 18, Monday – Friday, two weeks

AP EXAMS--A schedule is available in the counseling office.  

May 14--18, Monday-Friday

Splash Day Tickets will be sold. Price to be announced.

May 14--24, Monday-Thursday (2 weeks)

Senior Party tickets will be sold. $15 each.

MANDATORY SENIOR ASSEMBLY--All Seniors are to report to the auditorium.  You will be given a checkout card to have your semester grades recorded by teachers. You are to return your checkout card to a counselor before leaving the building.

MANDATORY SENIOR ASSEMBLY for ALL May and August graduates. This is your last chance to clear fines, buy honor stoles, and receive final instructions for graduation.

May 25, Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

 

(ARRIVE AT 12:30 p.m. Rehearsal will begin promptly at 1 p.m.)

MANDATORY GRADUATION REHEARSAL--Report to the United Spirit Arena for rehearsal. Rehearsal is required if you are walking in the graduation ceremony.  If you have a conflict, see Mrs. Dickson.  If you are not walking in the graduation ceremony, a written statement signed by your parent is required.

May 26, Saturday, 3 p.m. (BE THERE BY 2:15 P.M.)

GRADUATION CEREMONY—Seniors are to be in their assigned seats in the practice gym BY 2:15 p.m., dressed in your cap/gown. Roll check is at 2:30 p.m.

May 26, Saturday, 11 p.m. – 4 a.m.

Senior Substance Free Graduation Party at Coronado. Tickets are $15 each. FUN, FOOD, DOOR PRIZES, AND GAMES!!

August 14, Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., Monterey Auditorium.

AUGUST GRADUATION-- Graduates are to report to Mrs. Dickson by 7 p.m., pictures will be taken by Party Time Photo. Letters regarding August graduation will be mailed to graduates the first week in August.

 

DURING MARCH AND APRIL:

·          Continue to work on your grades!  End this year with good grades on your transcript!

·          Read monthly newsletters. Listen carefully to announcements.

·          Send in your college applications NOW if you haven’t done so!

·          Continue to apply for scholarships!

·          Apply for financial aid. Complete the FAFSA!

·          If you have not ordered your cap and gown, do so from Herff-Jones 2229 34th. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday. Phone: 744-7737

DURING MAY:

·          In May, order your final transcript! Request cards in the counseling office, main office and Senior English classes.

·          Obtain a copy of your immunization card from Mrs. Day, the Coronado school nurse!

·          In May, request a transcript from South Plains College for dual credit courses. Request forms are in the counseling office.
