Stacy Rae Gomez

Stacy was born Feb. 2, 1986, in Lubbock and her spirit left this Earth on November 1, 2003. She graduated from Coronado High School on Oct. 24, 2003, with honors and was awarded valedictorian. She played on the CHS junior varsity basketball team as a Lady Mustang in her sophomore and junior years.  During her junior high years at Smylie Wilson Jr. High, she played for the Lady Texans basketball team. Stacy also played an active role in her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe.

In 2002, Stacy was on the CHS journalism staff and yearbook committee.  Also in 2002, she was the state finalist in the American Coed Pageant and participated in the state Junior Teen Pageant.  In 2001, she received the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence and the South Plains Foreign Language Festival Award.

Services for Stacy were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Our Lady of Guadalup
