I have been with Lubbock ISD for six years. My classroom experience has been teaching third grade for four years at Parsons Elementary. I accepted my current position as a Demonstration Teacher in the Instructional Technology Department two years ago. The majority of my work is with the district's third grade teachers; helping them successfully implement AlphaSmart Neos into their classrooms. This program will be expanded next year to include the fourth and fifth grade teachers. I also teach classes for the department and one of these is Inspiration. Do your students view writing as a “Fear Factor” challenge?
Are your students gagging down writing assignments? Do they go blindfolded through the writing process? Have no fear Technology is near! The goal of implementing the Neos is to demonstrate how technology in the everyday classroom will help students grasp the challenge and become excited about writing. Cooperative groups or individual students will work through authentic assignments with the use of Neos. Inspiration is a great tool for organizing thoughts and writing assignments. Fear of writing will no longer be a factor for either you or your students.
