After School Program

The 21st Century Community Learning Grant was awarded in May 2004 and continues to give resources to provide extended day school activities and a safe place for students to go while their parents are at work.  The goal is to utilize the resources at the school and in the surrounding community to allow for fun, exciting learning opportunities for every child.  The grant also allows the development and implementation of a tutorial program in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies.  This program is built into the extended day modules to give students the opportunity to participate in both tutoring and enrichment modules.  Modules cover a wide variety of activities and topics including cooking, cosmetology, sewing, jewelry making, leather crafts, scrap booking, pottery, guitar and steel drum lessons, jazz band, Lego Robotics, fitness, and digital photography.  Students are provided snacks after school and bus transportation for attendance.
