“A Sound of Thunder” Webquest 1. In class, read “A Sound of Thunder,” by Ray Bradbury.
2. Take the short quiz (in your packet) and turn it in. Be sure to record your name in the appropriate place.
3. Go to “Ray Bradbury Online.” On the left side of the page, click on “Biography.” Read “A Brief Biography” and answer the questions about Ray Bradbury’s life (in the packet.)
4. Go back to the “Ray Bradbury Online” home page and click on “Quotes.”
a. Click on or scroll down to “Censorship.” Read the second quotation and paraphrase it.
b. Click on or scroll down to “Education.” Read the second quotation and paraphrase it.
5. Go to “Dinosaur FAQ.” Read this information on dinosaurs and take notes.
6. Go to “Extinction Theories” and read over the dinosaur extinction theories. Select one hypothesis, which you will write a paper on.
7. Search the sites listed below for information either supporting or contradicting this hypothesis. Document your sources and make note of the credentials of the site’s author.

8. Write a short paper with illustrations. The paper will present your hypothesis and support for one dinosaur extinction theory. Illustrations may come from the web sites above or from Google or Yahoo. (Click on “Images.”)
9. Study the dinosaur cartoon in your packet. Which extinction theory is reinforced? Explain the irony found in the cartoon caption.
