Medical Magnet
The Medical Magnet Program at Estacado High School provides students the educational foundation, diverse medical orientation, and the training needed for a successful career in medicine. Estacado is the ONLY high school in the Lubbock Independent School District that provides this core knowledge in the following areas:
· Anatomy & Physiology
· Pathophysiology
· Patient Care Skills
· Veterinary/Equine Science
· Microbiology
· Biomedical Technology
· Sports Medicine
Students will complete a two year Clinical Preceptorship made up of:
· Authentic experiences in an area related to future choice.
· Mentorship by a licensed health care professional.
· Tours of health care facilities in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio
Completing the program results in:

Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

Certification in CPR

Prepared to continue in any career related to medicine
