Academic excellence is a priority at J. T. Hutchinson Middle School.  All students are expected to complete their class assignments, special projects, and homework with a high degree of accuracy.  Magnet students must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA in order to enter and remain.  Ability grouping is utilized in 6th grade in order to meet the needs of students needing a faster pace or additional enrichment, and Pre-AP classes are available to qualified 7th and 8th grade students in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
