After School Behavior Expectations and Procedures

 

The student will:

 

Regular Dismissal:

-Exit the building in a quiet and orderly manner. 

 

-While waiting for you ride, wait quietly and calmly in your grade level’s assigned area.

 

-Walk calmly, do not run, to parent.

 

-Look both ways before crossing the parking lot or street.

 

-Cross the street at the crosswalk only.

 

-Obey teacher monitors and safety patrol students.

 

-Leave the campus immediately if walking home.

 

-Remain outside of building until 3:10, returning only with a teacher’s permission. Students will not be allowed to use the phone until directed by staff.   

 

Extended Day Dismissal:

-Exit on the east side of school when dismissed by extended day teacher. 

-Follow Regular dismissal procedures.

 

The teacher/staff will:

 

Regular Dismissal: 

 -Teach students the behavior expectations and procedures for After School.  Practice and reteach behaviors as necessary.

 

-Assign at least one teacher per grade level to monitor students outside.

 

-Actively monitor students outside.  Make sure that one teacher is in each assigned area for students. 

 

-Stay with students until 3:10.

 

-Escort late pick-ups to Library at 3:10.  Do not allow students to go to the office to make phone calls. 

 

Extended Day Dismissal: 

-Teach students the behavior expectations and procedures for After School.  Practice and reteach behaviors as necessary.

 

-Assign at least one teacher per grade level to walk students to extended day area or wait with extended day students in the classroom.

 

-Stay with students until 5:15.

 

The parent(s) will:

 

Regular Dismissal:

-Pick child(ren) up by 3:10 in the dismissal area at the back of school.

 

-Encourage child(ren) to walk, not run, across parking lot or street.

 

-Encourage child(ren) to use the crosswalk when crossing the street.

 

-Expect child to obey teacher monitors and safety patrol students.

 

-Keep vehicles out of area blocked off by cones.

 

-Watch carefully for all students crossing the parking lot or street. 

 

Extended Day Dismissal:

-Pick child(ren) up by 5:00 in the dismissal area at the back of the school.  On cold weather days, pick child(ren) up from the gym.

 

NOTE:  3 Late pick-ups (after 5:15)  will result in removal from the program. 

 

Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior

  1. Student will receive a verbal warning by a teacher/staff member/safety patrol student.
  2. Student will be asked to wait in an area isolated from other students.
  3. Student will receive a “write-up” on Citizenship Record.
  4. Student will conference with administrator.
