Restroom Behavior Expectations and Procedures

 

The student will:

 

-Use the restroom in an appropriate and timely manner.

 

-Respect other students who are also using the restroom.

 

 

-Wash hands in the appropriate manner to insure health and safety.

 

 

-Notify a teacher or staff member of restroom problems.   

 

The teacher/staff will:

 

 -Teach behavior expectations and procedures for using the restroom area.

Practice and reteach behaviors as necessary.

 

-Remind students of all appropriate behaviors, such as Hallway and Restroom expectations, when taking the class or sending individual students to the restroom. 

 

-Issue Restroom Passes to any student(s) requesting to use the restroom unsupervised.  Limit the number of students out of the classroom at any given time. 

 

-Monitor restrooms for inappropriate behavior.

The parent(s) will:

 

-Encourage child(ren) to follow Iles restroom expectations and procedures.

 

-Remind child(ren) to respect others and school property.

 

-Reinforce Iles restroom expectations when necessary.

 

Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior

  1. Student will receive a verbal warning from a teacher/staff member.
  2. Student will participate in Positive Practice- do the behavior again in the appropriate way.
  3. Student will receive a “write-up” on Citizenship Record.
  4. If problem persists, student will receive supervised visits to restroom for a designated period of time.
