Parent education |
JJAEP offers Parent Education program that includes 20 hours of classroom training, during which our instructors will demonstrate how to do at home what we do at school (please, see the schedule). The classes are taught by Ricardo and Dolores Martinez - Parent Education Facilitators certified by Texas Tech Family Studies Department and the Family Connections Office of the Lubbock Independent School District. These classes are open to general public and everyone is invited to attend. However, some people may be required to attend by a court order. These include parents of children incarcerated in the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center, parents of children on official probation and parents of child enrolled in JJAEP. Several agencies in Lubbock require of their staff and parents of children receiving their services to attend Parent Education classes. Among such agencies are the Child Advocacy Center, Catholic Family Services, Lubbock County District Attorney's Office, the Justice of the Peace Courts, Lubbock County District Courts, all elementary and secondary schools of Lubbock Independent School District, and a number of local churches. |
