Student Council

The MMS Student Council is a service oriented organization geared toward students who want to learn leadership skills along with participation in service projects.  Officers are elected at the end of the preceding year to serve as ninth and eighth grade leaders.  Five officers (president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and reporter) are elected by school population.

        Students apply to become representatives.  Criteria for this position involves teacher recommendations, time and commitment to serve, and parent permission.

        Service to school and community is top priority.  The council sponsors an annual United Way Fall Festival for the whole school, promotes teacher appreciation each six weeks, and participates in community service projects to donate money to various city organizations.  Approximately seventy-five students participate yearly is this great organization.
