*Classes are designed to help students focus on the real world experiences in courses such as apparel, nutrition & food sciences, personal and family development, preparation for parenting, child development, individual and family life, and housing.

*Leadership and competitive events are offered through the student organization FCCLA.  FCCLA is Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.

 

Family & Consumer Sciences Career Preparation

Work Based Learning for Juniors & Seniors

*FCSCP is a 3-credit elective designed to give students real world experiences through employment in the business community.  Students receive credit for the class and the job as well as receive an hourly wage.  Students attend a class which provides insight into the many opportunities after high school and teaches responsibility and communication skills.  Students work in businesses for a minimum of 15 hours per week.  Because this counts as class time, juniors and seniors do not attend afternoon classes.  FCSCP students must take all the required courses for graduation and may select any graduation plan.

*Students are offered the opportunity to participate in youth leadership activities through Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).  Students may enter competitive events.
