Announcements: Jeremy Trull received a $1,000 scholarship to South Plains College in a drawing at the TAFE regional conference.

Purpose/Goals: endeavors to offer interested high school students the opportunity to explore the important field of teaching through volunteer work with teachers and students, visits to university educator programs, and regional and state conferences.

Membership Requirements: Membership is open to all students at MHS. There is a $5.00 annual due required. To participate in activities that require missing school days, a student must be UIL eligible. Officers must have a 3.0 minimum G. P. A.

Special Projects/Services/Competitions: We attend district and state conferences designed to educate students about the career of teaching. We will be doing service projects such as adopting an elementary school classrooms, promoting scholarship opportunities, and as always encouraging community service as well.

The Monterey Chapter has always been one of the largest and most active chapters in Region 17. 

It also produced the T. A. F. E. student of the year in both 2003 and 2004.  This meant that two Monterey students received $1,000 scholarships.
