Welcome, Parents!

Dear Parents,

I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Irene S. Rodriguez, and I am the new Parent Liaison for the campus.  I am excited to be here, and look forward to meeting you.  Some of you that have not met me may be asking what the Parent Liaison does.

I will consult with school personnel administration, and teachers to establish and maintain parent activities which support academic achievement at home as well as school.  I will also facilitate communication among parents, teachers, administrators, the school staff, and the community.

To put it in a nutshell, I will work on getting parents involved in their children’s education.  Whether it is by working with volunteers, scheduling meetings with teachers or making home visits.  I do look forward to working with you.

When you are at school, stop by my office for a visit.  I am in room 127 along with Communities in Schools.

O.L. Slaton encourages parent involvement.  To find out what you can do to become more involved in your child’s education, or if you would like to volunteer at any special events throughout the year please contact me, Irene Rodriguez, at 766-1555.  We would love to have you as a volunteer, and we would love for you to take part of the Learn Spirit here at  O.L.
