| The O. L. Slaton Magnet Program combines
academics and performing arts in a challenging curriculum that promotes
creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, and the pursuit of intellectual
excellence and skills. O. L. Slaton
has offered exemplary Pre – Advanced Placement courses in English, math,
science, and history since 1993. O.L. Slaton
is a Texas middle school that is part of the Core Knowledge
Foundation. Pre – AP and
performing arts classes are enhanced by Core Knowledge’s broad based content
and rich vocabulary formulated from the extensive research and educational
theories of the internationally known E. D. Hirsch.
The performing arts classes, including theater arts, dance, gymnastics, band, orchestra, choir, and art, to enrich Slaton’s academic programs and develop the well – rounded student. |
