Employment Opportunities
A. Certified Staff
Lubbock Independent School District offers employment opportunities
for administrators, classroom teachers, curriculum and instruction
support staff and other certified/licensed support staff.
B. Non-certified Staff
Lubbock Independent School District offers employment opportunities
for individuals trained in office skills, business/finance, data processing,
warehousing, police/safety and instructional support.
C. Administrative Staff
Lubbock Independent School District offers employment opportunities
for administrators in campus level positions and district-wide instructional/non-instructional
support positions.
D. Substitute Program
Lubbock Independent School District's substitute program
provides opportunities for substitute teachers, substitute clerks
and substitute teaching assistants. The minimum requirement for substitute
teaching is completion of 60 semester hours of college work. The minimum
requirement for substitute clerks and substitute teaching assistants
is completion of high school diploma or GED equivalency requirements.
E. Application Process
- How to Apply - Teacher, librarian, and therapist candidates must
complete a professional application for employment and request a
personal interview. Administrator, counselor, and non-certified
candidates must complete an application for employment and wait
to be invited for an interview. Candidates may request an application
for employment to be mailed by calling

- Selection and Notification - After the application and interview
process is completed, the appropriate supervisor makes staffing
recommendations to a personnel department administrator. The
personnel department administrator extends the job offer to the
candidate.
- How to Reactivate Your file or Reapply - The candidate must
write a letter to the personnel department to reactivate the file.
A personnel
department staff member will respond to the candidate and provide
information as to the steps to follow to become an active candidate
for employment.
F. Credentials Required
Candidates for certified positions must hold the appropriate
Texas or out-of-state certificate/license, provide an official transcript
and provide a service record, if applicable, to verify creditable
experience. Candidates for non-certified positions must hold a high
