Lubbock Teacher Selected as an Outstanding Regional Teacher

Hutchinson Middle School Teacher, Shane Burk

Shane Burk, Technology Education teacher at Hutchinson Middle School, received the Outstanding Regional Teacher award
from the Association of Texas Technology Education (ATTE) for the 2007-2008 school year. ATTE was founded in 1955 with the mission to be the primary advocate for the study of Technology Education, in all grades, to prepare the youth of Texas for success in a Technological Society. Burk was honored at conference in Marble Falls in February.

Hutchinson Principal Sam Ayers said, “Shane Burk stresses safety in his technology education classes. His students are successful in designing challenging projects throughout the year, and several student projects qualify for the state competition.”

Burk’s father, Mike Burk, is the Industrial Technology teacher at O.L. Slaton Middle School. Shane Burk’s photo is attached above.
