I.  Officer Qualifications

A candidate for Student Council officer must be an eighth grader at the time of election and shall maintain at least a 80 average with no grades below 70 each grading period in overall academic and elective subjects during the year he runs for office as well as the year he serves as officer.  He must not receive a “U” in citizenship during the year he runs and serves as an officer.  Officers will be placed on probation for the first offense (3 weeks until progress reports and/or until the end of the next grading period).  Officers will be expected to complete all assigned duties during class, but they will not be allowed to participate in any activity in front of the student body.  Officers will be removed from office if a second offense occurs.

 

II.  Student Council Representative and Alternate Qualifications

A candidate for Student Council representative or alternate shall maintain at least a 80 average with no grades below 70 each grading period in overall academic and elective subjects during the year he serves as representative or alternate.  He or she must not receive a “U” in citizenship during the year he runs and serves as an representatives and alternates.  Eighth and ninth grade representatives and alternates must have upheld these qualifications during the previous year.  Representatives and alternates will be placed on probation for the first offense (3 weeks until progress reports and/or until the end of the next grading period).  Representatives and alternates will be removed from their position if a second offense occurs anytime during the year.
