About LISD Technology Mini-grants

What is the purpose of the technology mini-grant program?
The purpose of this program is to improve instruction by encouraging and supporting teachers' efforts to develop innovative and effective instructional practices. This program provides technology resources beyond those received through the LISD Technology Competencies Level I-III. Special consideration will be given to projects that include at least some of the following areas: information fluency skills, problem-solving skills, authentic audiences, academic integration, and collaboration with other teachers, parents, and the community.

How many mini-grants will be funded this year?
Three categories of grants will be funded: $500-$1499 up to 4 funded; $1500-$4999 up to 4 funded; $5000-$9,999 up to 2 funded and $10,000 and above up to 1 funded.

What is required to qualify for a technology mini-grant?
You must be an LISD teacher or librarian, you must have completed levels I, II (part 1 & 2), & III of the LISD Technology Competencies, and you must complete and submit the Technology
Mini-grant Application by the posted deadline.

For what types of expenditures can technology funds be used and what must come from campus sources?

Items eligible for technology funding... Items which must be funded by the campus...
Technology equipment (computer, scanner, digital camera, probes, etc) Facilities renovation (includes: electricity, HVAC, security, carpet, painting, etc.)
Software Travel (even to eligible training)
Furniture related directly to the technology equipment Substitutes
Applicable fees for training Stipends or other extra pay
  Supplies (paper, printer cartridges, etc)
  Refreshments/Food
