What is I.T.? Simply put I.T. is Instructional Technology, but unfortunately it's not that simple. It's like a loaf of well made bread. Good bread consists of little more than flour, water, and salt. However, in the hands of a skilled baker these ingredients are mixed into a dough that when combined with time to proof and the heat from a well built oven becomes far more than simply a combination of those three simple ingredients. If you don't believe me then try a spoon full of flour, chase it down with water and a quick shake of salt. Wouldn't you rather have had some of Grandma's hot homemade bread?

Instructional technology is, at its core, just wires and boxes, but like bread's simple ingredients, in the hands of a skilled educator those wires and boxes become powerful tools to help students learn. It is our hope that this web site and the Lubbock ISD staff development program will provide LISD staff with opportunities to develop the skills that go beyond the wires and boxes so they can Just Do I.T.!
