Lubbock ISD sixth annual Sing
Lubbock ISD Fine Arts presented their sixth annual Sing concert last Thursday at the Buddy Holly Hall. The top ensembles from high school and middle school choirs came together to perform, which allowed more than 20 different choir groups to take the stage. It was the perfect event to showcase the talent we are growing in our district while also allowing students to learn and perform with different size choirs. Different groups performed many selected works and ended with "Jambo Rafiki" by V. Johnson for their combined finale.

Lubbock HS Family Consumer Sciences create Raiders Rojos serape stoles
Lubbock HS Family and Consumer Science students worked on creating serape stoles for Texas Tech Raiders Rojos Convocation as their end-of-the-year service learning project last week. Lubbock HS students have been a part of making these stoles for Texas Tech graduates for over a decade. These stoles have been worn for years and represent the deep pride and Hispanic culture of the students who wear them. Raiders Rojas Program Director says, “Wearing the stole at graduation symbolizes the pride of the Hispanic heritage and the many Spanish-speaking countries of origin that are included in this group, thus the varied colors.”
