The Lubbock ISD All-District Marching Band would like to invite the community to a special lunchtime parade in downtown Lubbock on Monday, June 27, at 12:00 pm.
This 230 member ensemble is on its way to Washington DC where they will represent West Texas in our nation's capital by performing in the National Independence Parade on July 4th. The band will start at 12:00 pm at Buddy Holly Hall and travel down Avenue O, west on Broadway, down Avenue K by City Hall, and over to Texas Avenue, finishing at the county courthouse. Regardless of where you choose to see the band march, please join us at approximately 12:30 pm on the courthouse lawn where the band will perform a special arrangement of "America the Beautiful."
Lubbock has rallied around our students to help them with the financial support they need to make this trip possible. As a token of appreciation and because they will not be in town to participate in our own "4th on Broadway" celebration, all attendees will receive a free ice cream "Drumstick." We hope to see you there!
