Mrs. Jennifer Harris

Courses taught: IB Psychology (HL & SL), AP Psychology

Jennifer Harris is in her eleventh year of teaching, all of which have been at Lubbock High, save seven weeks at a charter school teaching 4th and 6th graders. She currently teaches both AP Psychology and IB Psychology. This year will be her first teaching AP, but she is so excited to get to know the curriculum and the students. She loves teaching IB and as an IB alumna, she knows the benefits of the program as both a student and a teacher. Personally, she loves teaching psychology because we can see it in every aspect of our lives both in what we do and how we think. In addition to psychology, she has previously taught English and biology. She is certified to teach grades 8-12 in English Language Arts & Reading, Social Studies Composite, Life Sciences, and ESL. Outside of her school life, she is married and has two sons. They love to spend time together and with their friends (when there's not a pandemic) playing board games, riding bikes, doing escape rooms, and hanging with our pets. She also enjoys gardening and baking.

"Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination; causing us to fear things that do not at present, and may not ever, exist. That is near insanity. But do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice. We are all telling ourselves a story." – Will Smith
