Scouts of America is now accepting girls and the VTC is pleased to announce the Creation of the first ever VTC Troop!
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations, providing programs for young people that build character.
Scout Me In
Scouts BSA is all about outdoor adventure, but scouts also participate in STEM activities and develop leadership skills.
The Foundation of Scouting
Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Outdoor Code: As an American, I will do my best to:
Be clean in my outdoor manners. Be careful with fire. Be considerate in the outdoors. Be conservation minded.
Scout Mission: The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
On Saturday, March 5th, five of our scouts represented the VTC at the Merit Badge College and were able to earn their first two Merit Badges!
Youth Protection Training
The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. To maintain such an environment, the BSA developed numerous procedural and leadership selection policies and provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Scouts BSA and Venturing programs.
